Dinner in New York after cruise
Question:
We like "Firebird" on 46th street between 8th and 9th. A bit pricey – they have all sorts cavier etc on the menu. . Its done like czarist Russia. Speaking of caviar, how about "Petrossian"? Great food, comfortable restaurant. One of my favorites.
Both pricey. Petrosian close to outstanding, but pricey. Ben S. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Karen

What type of food? There are some extremely good Brazilian and Argentina places on 46th, there is a pretty good microbrewery and chop house (called the Chophouse) right off of Broadway on 43rd on Times Square, the Playwright on 49 is very good (I think you should change the area you are looking in a bit, say from 40 to 48 or so), Dallas and Virgil’s offer a ton of BBQ food for a decent price, Limoncello on 7th is quite expensive, but the food is also very good (Italian), and the Dervish Turkish on 47th is also very good if you like Turkish food. Check out www.timessquare.com for a listing of 160 restaurants near Times Square, and remember in New York just as many people go out after the show as they do before, so figure out if you want a small meal first, then the show, then a full meal or visa versa. The producers won’t be putting anybody to sleep, it’s way too funny, so eat all you want.

We are looking for a nice place to eat (6 people) other than Carmine’s (they are booked two months in advanve). We are staying in Jersey City and will be using the Path to get back and forth. I guess any thing between 36th & 44th Streets, off of Broadway would be fine. Any suggestions? Will anyone else be on the Zenith that week? Thanks, Beth
