The Life of my beer..?
Question:
I was just wondering how long on average homebrew can sit in the bottle without going bad? I guess the conditions it is stored in has something to do with it. The beer is an ale, stored in a cool dark place. Thanks, gary lasseter

Well, it also depends on what you mean by going bad. Also, how much alcohol there is in the beer. Just about every beer I have ever made has tasted "not as good" if I left it in my basement for more than a year or two. Most of the beer I keep in my basement tastes at it’s best the first year. Problem beers (seriously overspice or overhopped, for example) may taste better because the flavors will diminish with age. John DeCarlo, MITRE Corporation, McLean, VA–My views are my own
