According to a recipe I have in The Homebrewer’s Recipe Guide (which is their copycat of Sam Adams Boston Lager) they use Hallertauer for bittering Tettnanger for aroma and dry hopping.  I’m not sure if this is indeed the case I’ve only had Boston Lager once because it’s quite expensive here (if you charge me over $10 for a six pack I want 500ml or 650ml bottles!) and have never made the recipe.
