This End Up Oil Finish

Categories: Home Brew

Question:

: Please forgive me if this has been asked before, but I am wondering if : anyone know what the This End Up Oil Finish is? : The package says it is 66% Linseed Oil (in the combustable chemical : disclaimer), but I was wondering if is is mixed with anything else. : I dont want to waste money $9 for 16oz if it is just Boiled Linseed Oil, : and i can buy it cheaper at a local store.         I don’t knwo what’s in it, but my guess is that the other 44% is wax; mineral spirits or turpentine; or varnish (linseed oil, plus wax or varnish, is a common home brew, and turps or mineral spirits is a standard thinner).  Unlikely it’s anything besides that, and any of those is a lot cheaper than $72 a gallon!         If all else fails, you could ask them what’s in it — make something up about you great-auntie Eunice being allergic to certain compounds.         — Andrew Barss

Please forgive me if this has been asked before, but I am wondering if anyone know what the This End Up Oil Finish is? Or refer me to the FAQ if this has been beat to death before. The package says it is 66% Linseed Oil (in the combustable chemical disclaimer), but I was wondering if is is mixed with anything else. I dont want to waste money $9 for 16oz if it is just Boiled Linseed Oil, and i can buy it cheaper at a local store. Thanks for any advise —
