Root Beer/Soda Recipes Wanted

Categories: Brewing Beer

Question:

After brewing many batches of beer, I interested in making some RootBeer or soda for my little boy. He always helps me brew but can never enjoy the reward. I am looking for RootBeer and/or Soda recipes from extracts. I already have the Cat’s Meow recipes. Please email me if you can help me out. Thanks in advance,    Jerry j.

Hi Jerry! I’ve had some luck with the following recipe with root beer. Mind you, it doesn’t taste like the commercial stuff, but it is kinda neat and fun to make. Get a pack of pasteur champagne yeast… soak it in a cup of water while you are putting together the root beer. dissolve 1 bottle of rootbeer extract in a gallon of water. Add about 8 or 9 cups of regular sugar (be careful here… you may just want to get the rootbeer extract into 4 gals. of water and add sugar to taste, but remember, some of the sugar is going to go to CO2). Add the Yeast. Mix it up and bottle it!                  Ziggy’s Den Of Iniquity
