The initial lag time was around 12 hours. On the third day, a strong sulfury or rotten egg-like smell was coming out of the airlock. Any ideas on what this means? I’m using Wyeast London Ale, my first attempt at liquid yeast. Maybe this yeast just produces this smell?? This is my third batch, so I don’t think I made any really bad mistakes! Anyone have similar experiences??
This is more common in lager yeast, but it happens. Don’t worry it will dissapate over time. Just think of it as all the bad smells leaving the beer during fermentation. –Russ
