This is my third batch, so I don’t think I made any really bad mistakes! Anyone have similar experiences??

This is more common in lager yeast, but it happens. Don’t worry it will dissapate over time. Just think of it as all the bad smells leaving the beer during fermentation. –Russ

This is typical or many yeasts.  RDWHAHB.  The stink will blow off. —
