Question:

Hi all, I slapped together a hop bitterness calculator today, and I’d like some feedback on it.  It’s available at: http://abe-and-os-breweries.com/cgi-brew/IBU.pl and just for fun, (and to be different) it takes the OG you give it and the bitterness, and matches it against the AHA style guide to help figure out what kind of beer it might be.  If anyone knows the equations for finding color from malts I’ll do the same using colors too:) Abe

That’s pretty cool! Is the beer selection calculation based soley on IBU’s or also varietal, flavor vs bittering, etc? It would be kind of neat to see a continuum of what beer styles have what IBU level. A malt one would be really interesting if you could build it.
