Gatorlode: make your own? Need recipe
Question:
Powerbars and stuff like that are mostly malto dextrin, which is malt sugar, I guess. You can buy it in bulf from food suppliers or home brewers shops. It has no taste to speak of and mixes nicely with most anything. Another option that I like is buying canned malt extract for beer making and drinking it out of a small squeeze bottle during long bicycle races. Maybe drink 3 oz for 120 miles, pretty cheap, the taste? Kind of stout, but I love it. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Does anyone have a recipe for making this stuff at home. My friend and I are both very active athletes and would love to use this stuff, but would go broke buying it at the rate we’d use it. thanks, stornmy
